"I had the privilege of being an Arrow for the majority of my high school years. The experience was awesome! Pastor Maya started us off by having us to think of the things that we were already good at. She said that this would give us some clues about God’s ultimate purpose for our life. Then, Brother Keith had us performing his original pieces at youth conferences all over the place. We went to Decatur, Atlanta, Gray, GA, Savannah, and Daytona Beach, FL. These experiences were game changers for me. I began to see myself differently, I believed them when they said that I was intelligent. I was beautiful. I had potential. I was a global leader of my generation.
Since that time, I have been busy allowing God to mold me into who they said I was. I became the Executive President of the student body of Grady High School. I started a nonprofit organization at my school and am attending The University of Alabama, where I will continue to hear the voices that have imparted my destiny into me. It is my goal to be a public speaker (like Brother Keith) and nurture my nonprofit globally (like Pastor Maya)."

Austin Jackson
I started the program about 4 years ago. I was entering high school, and it was the way I could see all the friends I missed seeing in school. It was more like a hangout spot for me. They put us through various team building activities and performances, the utmost team building activity because if someone's late or forgot their line, it was our job to fill in where they may have forgotten. From these performances, I not only got a very clear understanding of what audiences are looking for, but I learned, how powerful I was. Not only as a leader, but with my performing voice. As a matter of fact, all of us did. There were times where we walked out in front of thousands of people, and weren't nervous a bit, because the South Fulton Arrow Youth Council taught us how to use that power. With the Youth Council, I was awarded one of the top 20 Leaders in the State of Georgia. I released my book Takeoff: Seeing Beyond the Clouds to inspire other people like me to let their power out, and they will "Takeoff." I started my company the Takeoff Superstore that sells over 150 different products, and I thank the South Fulton Arrow Youth Council for it. They gave me the mentality needed for success. That mentality will always and forever make ANYONE a true success and allow them to "Hit the Bullseye!"

The Arrow Difference: Changing the Narrative

"I joined SFAYC when I was in high school and it has tremendously changed my life. While in Arrow, I had the opportunity to obtain and maintain a leadership position that brought me in front if the likes of city officials. This has given me the confidence to run and win a position as a class officer during my freshman year at Xavier University. Through Arrow, I have met and built friendships with other like-minded young individuals who are starting their own mentorship programs, and writing their own books. I have been able to acquire mentors who guide and give me advice as I embark on this new journey of my life--college. I've also been able to be a mentor to the younger Arrows who look up to me, and constantly seek help from me. Most of all, Arrow has helped me to find my purpose in life so that I can operate in my gifts and hit the Bullseye of my potential."
